Sancrox Thrumster Rural Fire Brigade is an integral part of the New South Wales Rural Fire Service. It has approximately 30 active firefighters, with a like number of non-active members, and a junior brigade with approximately 10 junior members. The brigade is part of the Hastings Rural Fire District, and is situated approximately a kilometre in a direct line from the Pacific Highway, near the Highway Interchange for Oxley Highway, near Port Macquarie and the Pacific Highway, locally referred to as the "Donut". The brigade conducts training on the 1st, 3rd and 4th Wednesdays of every month,starting at 7pm and usually finishes around 9pm, and the monthly meeting is held on the 2nd Wednesday of the month, starting at 7:30pm. Station Duty, and other maintenance work is usually conducted on Saturday mornings, starting around 1:30pm.
